From the VicarageMarching With The SaintsLent has begun, and we have started our spiritual pilgrimage to Holy Week and Easter. Every year Christians make this a time to reflect on the death and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus - think what he did for you: what are you doing for him? Join St Augustine’s Lent Group at 2.30 on Wednesday afternoons and share your thoughts. There have been some cold days this winter, but we are snug and warm in St Augustine’s Church now that the new heating system has been installed. Bishops Brian’s sermon at the Thanksgiving Service was very apt: we owe it all to the God of Surprises, and the best is yet to come. Our next project is to upgrade the lighting and the sound: support us by coming to the Evening of Light Entertainment, 7.30 pm on Saturday 10th March, followed by refreshments. The new Parish Electoral Roll is growing, but it will be incomplete without you: to be included, come to church before Easter has passed, fill in a form and return it. Only those who are on the electoral roll can attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, which will be at 5pm on Sunday 29th April, and vote for the new Parochial Church Council. There will be reports from the Churchwardens and some of the Parish Organisations, and Paul Wright, our Archdeacon, hopes to be present for part of the meeting. This is the yearly showcase and think-tank for St Augustine’s Church. And, during Lent, lean on God, he will support you! With every blessing, Ann
