The Lord's Prayer
A prayer reminder to cut and keep

The Lord's Prayer is a wonderful prayer resource: not only is it very well known, but it contains everything we need for a balanced prayer diet.

If you find prayer difficult (and most of us do) then copy this page and put it somewhere where you will see it often. Just pray the prayer and use the pauses in your own way and you will find yourself growing daily closer to God and more confident in your faith.

Our Father,
who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name

(Pause and think about the wonder of creation, and the greatness of the God who made it and sustains it)

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth, as it is in heaven.

(In our hearts we know how God wants us to live. Pause and remember His commandments and the ways in which they are being broken in His world today.)

Give us this day our daily bread

(Pause and ask God for those things you need)

And forgive us our trespasses

(Pause and remember those times you have failed Him)

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

(Pause and ask Him to help you forgive those who have hurt you)

And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil

(Pause and ask His strength to resist temptation)

For thine is the kingdom
The power and the glory
For ever and ever,

(Pause, and finish where you began, in worship)
